Tasting Note

Il Notturno is the historic Sangiovese of Tenuta La Palazza, proud ambassador of the DOC Predappio sub-area. Born from the selection of the best grapes from all the vineyards of the Drei Donà family; harvested, vinified and aged separately to then be assembled to make a wine that fully expresses the soul of the Romagna terroir. It is a very pleasant wine with a balanced complexity. Notturno was also the first horse that was born in the Dei Donà house, just as the wine of the same name was the first wine that was born in La Palazza in the new course wanted by Claudio Drei Donà. Traditional fermentation takes place in concrete and stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. A prolonged maceration on the skins increases the extraction and gives body and color to this wine. The malolactic fermentation is completed in steel tanks before aging for about a year in large French oak barrels and in Allier tonneaux.
