Kilchoman's Machir Bay is an excellent single malt Scotch whisky from the isle of Islay. The distillers use whisky which has been matured in ex-bourbon barrels and Oloroso Sherry butts, resulting in a well-balanced flavour profile, with highlights of vanilla biscuits, light fruit and wafts of warm peat smoke. Kilchoman
Kilchoman was the first distillery to be built on Islay in over 124 years. Founded in 2005, Kilchoman is Islay’s only farm distillery, producing Scotland’s only Single Farm Single Malt. Kilchoman is a family run business, established by Anthony and Kathy Wills in 2005, the husband and wife team persuaded their three sons; George, James and Peter, to join the business as it expanded. The Wills family remain the driving force behind Kilchoman with Anthony as Managing Director and Master Blender, Kathy head of the Visitor Centre and their three sons managing the distillery’s sales and marketing activities.
