In the cellar, the sorting of the berries is meticulous and the aging lasts up to 14 months, with a proportion of 30% new oak barrels. Complex and concentrated, it opens with intense notes of raspberry, cherry, plum and cranberry. Undergrowth aromas of tobacco and chocolate are then revealed, revealing all the strength, character and finesse of this high-precision bottle.
The Geantet-Pansiot estate was founded in 1954 when Edmond Geantet married Bernadette Pansiot and the newlyweds started to make wine on 7 acres of vineyard spread on both Gevrey-Chambertin and Bourgogne designations. In 1977, their son Vincent joined them in the family business and has been in charge since 1989. A third generation is in the wings as Vincent’s son, Fabien, has been working with his dad since the age of twelve, officially joining him in 2006.
