Giulia Negri, Barolo La Tartufaia

One of Piedmont’s rising stars, Giulia descends from a family dedicated to the production of wine for over 150 years in La Morra. Boasting some of the highest vineyards in the Barolo DOCG production area, in the Serradenari area, Giulia has created her own brand by focusing on varieties such as Nebbiolo, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Giulia’s wines have already won considerable acclaim and she is blessed with a number of extremely fine vineyards. Serradenari, the crest of Barolo, enjoys views over almost all of Barolo and the vines are surrounded by prolific truffle forests. Giulia pays tribute to her beloved Burgundy and has planted Chardonnay and Pinot Noir near the forest with Nebbiolo inhabiting the warmer, sandy soils. It is here that Gulia produces Barolo that she describes as ‘a work of art’.
