Château La Rose Pourret
Right on the Bordeaux-Libourne-Saint-Emilion axis, Château La Rose Pourret extends over 9 hectares of vines, just a few hundred meters from the bell tower of the medieval town of Saint-Emilion, itself a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Château La Rose Pourret vineyard extends over 9 hectares of vines, all around 40 years old. Since its acquisition by the new owner, the estate has taken a more committed approach to respecting nature, with the complete conversion of the vineyard to organic farming.
The vineyard is planted on a reasonably homogeneous terroir with a rich soil of superficial silts and deep clays. A new parcel on the northern slope of the limestone plateau will add structure and complexity to future vintages. Situated between 3 and 107m above sea level, the vines of Château La Rose Pourret benefit from a warm temperate climate, typical of the Saint-Emilion Grand Cru appellation area.
