Wente was founded in 1883 and is the oldest wine producer in the US in the sense that the ownership has never left the family. It is run today by the 5th generation. This is a family run business with great focus on quality. They make their wine with as little human intervention as possible to respect the impact of the nature on the wine. The grapes for this wine come from three different vineyards and are picked on three different occasions in order to obtain perfect ripeness. This helps the wine get its rich fruit and pleasant freshness.
