Tasting Note
Ki One: Tiger Edition is the first of three limited editions to be released within the Society Collection. ‘Tiger’ was chosen to represent the first stage as they are widely regarded as Korea’s representative animal.
The Society Collection will consist of two other releases: Unicorn and Eagle. Unicorn will launch in year two, and Eagle six months after. Each edition aims to showcase the maturation process of Korea’s first single malt whisky prior to the launch of the official Ki One in 2023.
Ki One: Tiger is the first maturation process of Ki Once, which was put to age in new American Oak casks on July 7, 2020.
Only 1506 bottles of Ki One: Tiger were released, with 500 distributed within the Korean market, and the rest allocated to the five international markets mentioned.
The nose opens with lovely oak aromas and hints of summer fruit salad. On the palate, vanilla pods and juicy peaches are at the forefront, dancing their way into a crescendo of long, lingering oriental spices before giving way to barley sugar and a forest of oak.
