Each linked closely together by a skilfully woven malty tapestry, the three stages in the tasting of this incredible Benrinnes are nonetheless entities in their own right. The nose’s intensely floral character and the palate’s abundantly fruity temperament precede a wonderfully chocolatey, roasted and spicy finish that also reveals an impressively mature and fresh expression.

Benrinnes
Built on the shoulder of its mountain namesake 700 feet above sea level, Benrinnes was first founded sometime in the 1820s, but this original building was washed away in the great flood of 1829. Rebuilt for what is hopefully the last time in the 1950s, Benrinnes has been adding the sherry-like qualities to blends for over half a century. Over two centuries this distillery has faced it all. But a rather destructive fire, a fair share of financial turmoil, floods and two world wars have done nothing to impair the rounded, mellow, almost sultry tones of Benrinnes Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
