Douglas Laing
Whisky from Islay, Scotland
SKU: 000019-SC03004
Alcohol Volume: 46%
Traditionally non chill-filtered, uncoloured and containing ONLY a selection of malts from the magical Whisky Island of Islay… Ardbeg, Caol Ila, Bowmore and (even the now closed) Port Ellen to name but a few! Nose is fresh, salty and clean, developing to malted barley dried over peat with a damp earthy character. On the palate - ashes, sweet tar, beaches and smoking chimneys. The finish is long and lingering, it replicates the palate with salty, tangy liquorice, smoke, bonfire ashes - being foremost: PHENOLIC. A big peaty, smoky whisky like drinking bottled campfire. 96 Points – Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible Chairman’s Trophy / 96 points : Ultimate Spirits Challenge 2014 Best Blended Malt of the Year 2013: Whisky Advocate
