Aberlour Distillery was officially founded in 1826 by James Gordon and Peter Weir, although there is evidence of illicit distillation taking place in the area long before that. The distillery has a rich history of producing high-quality whisky. Aberlour is situated in the heart of Speyside, which is known for its abundance of distilleries and excellent water sources. The distillery draws its water from the Ben Rinnes mountain, contributing to the character of its whisky.
