In Armagnac, legend has it that, one day long ago, Baron de Sigognac took all the traditional clocks out of his cellars. Baron de Sigognac had found the core of the mystery of Armagnac ageing: time and patience… The legend adds that, with time, Baron de Sigognac who had thoroughly separated each harvest in different casks took first the idea of selling his brandies as genuine vintage Armagnacs.
