Chris is a Spirits Professional of over 15 years' experience, gained in a variety of fields across five different countries. Starting at the famous Oddbins retail chain in his native Scotland, he later moved to Royal Mile Whiskies in Edinburgh. There he rose to Assistant Manager of the flagship branch, gathering a deep knowledge of whisky and the wider spirits world.
Deciding to explore further afield, in 2013 Chris tended bar in Incheon, South Korea. The following year he gained the attention of African + Eastern, the largest distributor of alcohol in the UAE and Oman. He then take on the role of Spirits Trainer for their education arm. In 2015 he received a promotion to Single Malt Brand Ambassador, focusing on Glenfiddich but also working with the Malt Whisky ranges of Diageo, Beam Suntory and Remy-Cointreau.
In 2019 Chris moved to Singapore to take on the prize role of Master of Spirits at the multi-award winning ATLAS Lobby Lounge and Bar. In 2020 he decided to go back to the world of distribution, co-founding SPUN Spirits and Heart & Spirits with Matthew Fergusson-Stewart. Through both companies he offers consultancy, sales and private bottling support across a range of categories in addition to SPUN's fantastic range of premium spirits.
