Le Puy
Owned by the Amoreau family since 1610, Le Puy overlooks the Dordogne valley on the same geological plateau as Saint-Emilion and Pomerol, once called the ‘Plateau of Wonders’. The Chateau was originally built at the beginning of the 17th century and later extended in 1832 by Barthélémy Amoreau.
Jean-Pierre and Pascal Amoreau
Pascal Amoreau is the pioneer of “sulphite-free” winemaking. It was above all in the fermentation that the Le Puy style was born, with its completely natural form of thermoregulation. Theirs are the methods of another age in Bordeaux; not only are there no sulphites added, but no chemical fertilisers or weedkillers (the horses keep the grass between the rows in check), no yeasts, no chaptalization: wine like our grandfathers made it.
